Natural Antibiotics

Many people don’t quite understand how powerful natural antibiotics — certain herbs, essential oils and other natural substances — can be in warding off invading microbes, or in helping the body get rid of them. Following on this page is a sampling of what’s available and you’ll find some of Nature’s Sunshine’s fabulous products here.

“Mother Knows Best” Colloidal Silver

Colloidal Silver is a fabulous, very broad-spectrum natural antibiotic. It is widely accepted among alternative health afficianados as a broad spectrum anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and even (to some extent) anti-parasitic. It’s said to kill over 650 pathogens, including some of the worst. This is my own home brew (“Mother Knows Best” is my brand name). Since it’s my own home brew, it’s one of the more cost-effective versions you’ll find anywhere. I have it labeled “For External Use Only” because I have no way of testing its strength or purity. I use a CS generator I purchased a decade ago, .9999999 fine silver, and distilled water.Use it as a hand-cleaner that will NOT contribute to the breeding of superbugs; use it to disinfect and clean with, use it on your face mask (lightly sprayed on) as a further barrier; use it to gargle or rinse out your mouth and nostrils, and however else you can imagine.

One of the ways I use it is to either add a couple of drops to food I want to keep longer than normal (e.g., fresh fruit salad), or wrap short-shelf life vegetables in a paper towel and dampen with CS (e.g., zucchini and cucumber). It forestalls deterioration wonderfully. It would also be a useful vegetable wash for when you first bring food home from the market.

“Mother Knows Best” BioForce Shield (Anti-Viral, Anti-Bacterial Essential Oil Blend)

(Photo coming soon. ) BioForce Shield is a powerful natural antibiotic blend of essential oils, nicely broad spectrum, popularly used to knock out the rhinovirus (common cold) if said cold hasn’t yielded to our more common, somewhat milder anti-cold methods. While it’s not been tested against the H1N1 virus (either scientifically or anecdotally – that I know of), it’s certainly a remedy worth having on hand for whatever virus arises. Personally, I absolutely would apply this remedy liberally and frequently at first sign of other types of internal infection such as H1N1, and I’d probably continue applying in small doses as a preventive until the threat passes. It would NOT be my only remedy employed against the H1N1 or indeed even the rhinovirus. For any virus or any serious bacterial infection, I believe multiple approaches are best. Reminder: 10ml bottles are quite small, which you know if you’ve ever bought any essential oils. But the oils last a very long time since you only use a drop or two at a time.

10ml, $14.00 USD
