Remedies for Moms and Babies

Oh, what a lovely selection of herbal remedies for moms and babies we have here, if I do say so myself. These were so much fun putting together, and they're awfully nice to use, too.

For Mom _________________________________

PregnanTea
Wonderfully nutritive, strengthening and toning for the mom-to-be. Filled to the brim with vitamins and minerals, this herbal tea blend includes raspberry leaf which tones the entire female reproductive system, and is said to ready the body for delivery. A cup or two a day, with or without honey, should do it. Give your body what it needs during this physically challenging time. Also said to be beneficial for those wanting to conceive.

4 oz. $4.50

Lullaby Baby Salve

Like my Lullaby Baby Oil, this too is naturally fragrant with Mother Nature's healing herbal flowers -- elder, lavender, chamomile and calendula -- though the fragrance will fade without harsh skin-unfriendly fixatives. This beautiful, gentle salve helps keep baby's skin in wonderful condition and her bottom rash free.

Thrush Flush
Thrush is caused by a candida overgrowth, purportedly the same yeast that causes diaper rash. But this little gem of an herbal remedy can help keep baby's mouth all clean and pretty. Fungus-fighting tea tree essential oil along with skin-soothing and healing lavender essential oil diluted in a lovely organic sunflower oil. Mom rubs a bit (a drop or two) all around the inside of the mouth. It's not exactly yummy, but it should get the job done after a few applications and is preferable to letting baby suffer or giving her antibiotics which ultimately only exacerbate the problem.

1 oz. dropper bottle $5.50

For All Ages________________________________

Chill Plll Tea
for Babies, Kids and Adults too
We know. Every now and then your little one is anything but an angel and sometimes gets so overwrought, so overtired, overstimulated or whatever that s/he has trouble winding down. Sometimes too overexcited to go to sleep. This can help. Gentle enough for infants in small doses (and please note: also helpful for colic), it's a relaxing blend adults can use to good effect too. Just a subtle, gentle relaxer for all ages.

4 oz. $5.50

Erase! and Erase! Paste for Insect Bites and Stings
Also good for poison ivy and oak

The same remarkable remedy in two handy formulations: a salve which is quick and easy to use and a powder to which you add a bit of liquid to make a paste and apply. The salve is handy to use, but the paste is less has a longer shelf-life.

I originally called this "Bug Bite Blast," but I'm renaming it "Erase!" as I make new batches because that's what it does: it simply erases (neutralizes) insect bites and stings -- from mosquito bites to bee and wasp stings to the dreaded fire ant bites. It neutralizes the poisons and thereby STOPS the pain, itching, swelling, reddening of the bite or sting, usually within mere minutes. After a few hours, you may notice pain or itching again, though usually not as bad as when first bitten or stung, just re-apply Erase! and that's likely to be the last you'll have to deal with it. You're going to love this product.
1 oz. salve $4.50
2 oz. salve $6.50
1 oz. paste 3.50
2 oz. paste 5.00

Clear A-Head Lice Treatment

No matter how clean you and your children are, lice becomes a problem for many children at some point during their school years. The important thing is to just get rid of them, as quickly but safely as possible.

This formula is several essential oils in vegetable oil. You apply to the hair, trying to avoid scalp if possible, and leave on for about an hour then shampoo out. You may have to reapply in 2 weeks to take care of nits that have hatched. If your child's hair is short, one bottle should be enough for 2 treatments.

These essential oils are strong, but are not chemical poisons as OTC lice treatments can be. But do try a skin patch test first, to make sure your child's skin isn't too sensitive for these oils.
